Whole Foods in Hawaii
Aloha! More on where I’ve been later - right now I saw this item which caught my eye in the Honolulu Advertiser. Apparently Whole Foods has opened their first store at the Kahala Mall. It’s the first “organic” chain retailer to make inroads to the islands and according to the article, the resopnse has been very positive.
I guess when I think of Hawai’i, I think of fresh, healthy and wholesome foods. Well except for the Spam, of course, which at least falls under delicious if not exactly organic or healthy. So I was surprised that there wasn’t a larger organic food movement already established.
